How to reach Szombathely
The easiest way to go to Szombathely from anywhere in Europe is through Budapest or Wien (Vienna).
From Budapest:
- By plane: Budapest Local Transport --> Train
- By car: Budapest --> Highway M1 or M7
If you are continuing your trip from Budapest, the easiest way is travelling by train. First, you should go to Keleti Railway Station by using the public transport of Budapest:
From Ferihegy Airport to Kőbánya-Kispest Metro Station (Line 3): Bus 200E
Travel on Metro Line 3 (Blue) and transfer to Line 2 (Red) at the station Deák Ferenc Tér

The third station will be Keleti Pályaudvar. (Notice that you go toward Örs Vezér Tere!)
Intercity Trains to Szombathely are very fast and comfortable. It takes about three hours to get to Szombathely. Please check the online railway guide of Hungarian Railways for the latest departures.
If you arrive at Budapest by car, you can travel on M1 or M7 Highways to Győr or to Székesfehérvár, then you must change the road 86 or 8. We would recommend M7, because it is a little bit shorter. You must buy a special sticker to use M1 or M7 Highways. Please check the maps:

From Wien (Vienna):

- By car: Wien --> (Sopron) --> Szombathely
If you arrive at Wien (Vienna), you should go to Szombathely via Sopron. Check the trains from Wien to Sopron online.
From Sopron to Szombathely, you can travel by bus or train. Unfortunately, right now the railroad tracks are under constuction on the Sopron-Szombathely Line. Check the bus guide online.

By car, travel on Road 84 straight to Szombathely. If you go to BOBCATSSS 2011 by car, the most practical possibility is the Wien-(Sopron)-Szombathely way.
